Cross Browser Compatibility and Service Management

LiveTime supports every major browserOne of the unique aspects of LiveTime is its wide support for open standards, from the way the software is designed, through to the way it is used and integrates with other enterprise applications. Not only does LiveTime support every major database and operating system, but it also allows access from any major browser. LiveTime performs hundreds of hours of regression testing in every release to ensure compatibility with not only the newer browsers such as Google Chrome and Explorer 8, but also for older browsers such as Explorer 6 and FireFox 2.0. Most web applications only choose to support 1 or 2 browsers at best because of the volume of work required to make the user experience flawless across all platforms and browsers.

LiveTime recognizes that providing great customer service is not just about great software and great personnel, but also about accessibility. There is no point having the coolest new features (even though LiveTime has these) if the customer cannot even log a call in the first place. We expect software to work where ever you are, across the hall, or from a cafe in Rome. We are always amused when we try an log a call with one of our vendors and it doesn’t support major browsers such as Firefox or Safari. Often we get a message saying “Sorry we only support Explorer 7 or above”. That is simply bad customer service. That’s before we have even logged a call about the real problem. Even more amusing is when you do get to a login screen it forces you to load, and download all these browser plugins such as active X controls and Java Applets. While this maybe fine for some people, most corporations, particularly government sites have strict policies on these types of downloads and have automatic filters in place.

LiveTime does not impose any artificial limits on its customers. While it does take a lot more effort to support all browsers we think happy customers are the greatest reward of all.
