Getting Started with LiveTime SaaS

SaaS based ITSMBefore getting started with LiveTime’s SaaS based ITSM solution you should ensure the enterprise side of the network is secured through end point management and the appropriate firewall ports opened to allow access by the various protocols.

LiveTime is a pure play SaaS solution. It does not require any agents or aggregators to function. Using endpoint management and SSL any connection from LiveTime can be secured for the necessary integrations.

Security

LiveTime has many layers of security already enabled by default and uses a 2048 bit SSLv3 channel to connect to your browser. This is supported by all modern browsers. A summary of available ports for the various integrations is presented below. At a minimum you will require port 443 (HTTPS) for general product access. The remaining ports will depend upon the integrations you wish to use.

Summary of Ports

Protocol Port Protocol Port
HTTPs 443 HTTP 80
LDAP/AD SSL 636 LDAP/AD 389
EMAIL IMAPS 993 EMAIL IMAP 143
EMAIL POP3S 995 EMAIL POP3 110
EMAIL SMTPS 465 or 587 EMAIL SMTP 25

If you are performing any endpoint management it is important that systems are not locked down to an IP address range since these can dynamically change as capacity needs dictate. Even subnet addresses will change as systems move to different server farms as needed.

Authentication

LDAP AD SSL SetupMost users will elect to use some form of directory server to aide in the management of their users and provide authentication services for LiveTime. After setting up the appropriate roles on the directory server you will need to select the appropriate port and protocol to communicate on.

We recommend SSL protocols are used in all cases. So for authentication use one of the SSL options in the Authentications settings as shown. Once you have made the appropriate connection you can add the relevant roles to your directory server for the designated user groups. These are detailed in the LDAP / AD setup guide.

Once users are in the system it is necessary to assign the appropriate processes to the users, create support teams and build a service catalog for your customers.
